Artist Statement
My work is about observation. Observation of the figure itself and observation of the various behaviors people have when confronted with life altering, or ending, events. I paint the figure for the beauty of light falling on the figure. I find it alluring. I also have an inner necessity of painting observations made while working in the field of emergency medicine.
